Youth Leads UK has released its Annual Report covering April 2019 to March 2020.
The report, a requirement by the Charity Commission, details the governance and activities of the charity.
There are a number of case studies written by the young people who benefit from the activities as well as the financial accounts.
Highlights of the report include:
- 42 young people have served as a volunteer
- 55% of our volunteers are from severely disadvantaged backgrounds
- The organisation’s independently calculated social value stands at £4,215,861
Citing the recent successes, Chair of Youth Leads, Saimah Malji said:
“This charity was initially established as Xplode Magazine was in 2011 and we could never have foreseen where we are now – recognised with Her Majesty the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, having designed and delivered a peer-led employability training programme for over 5,000 young people and printed over 142,000 magazines full of content created by ambitious young people.”
“Young people are thoughtful, engaged and ready to make a difference in their communities and we will make social action opportunities available for all young people, with all of the benefits, no matter their background or history.”
