Youth Leads UK is celebrating after being awarded £2,000 in funding from Hits Radio Cash for Kids.

Based in Media City UK, Salford, the charity will use the funding to deliver a youth leadership programme culminating in the publication of Xplode Magazine. The leadership programme gives underprivileged young people aged 14-25 across Greater Manchester the opportunity to develop skills and confidence to take forward to future jobs.

Youth Leads UK’s Xplode Magazine is a youth-led publication and is distributed across Greater Manchester to 24 secondary schools, ASDA stores, public libraries and Starbucks Coffee outlets among other distribution points.

Hits Radio Cash for Kids Charity Manager, Jessica Rigby said:

“Hits Radio Cash for Kids is delighted to be awarding a grant to Youth Leads UK to help fund a fantastic magazine project for 30 disadvantaged young people. The skills they will develop and the confidence they will build from taking part in this project will last them a lifetime and this provides them with a fantastic opportunity that they would otherwise not be given. We cannot wait to hear how the project goes and the difference this makes to the young people involved. Keep up the amazing work Youth Leads UK!”
