Sufyaan Mahmood
Sufyaan is the Youth Development & Community Partnerships Coordinator at Youth Leads UK, working across Greater Manchester to deliver programmes and build partnerships that create real opportunities for young people.
Before joining Youth Leads, Sufyaan led community engagement work delivering large-scale events and youth programmes engaging over 1,000 young people. He organised projects including a major Christmas fair, community iftars and youth residentials, creating spaces where young people felt part of their community and supported to grow.
Sufyaan’s journey with Youth Leads started at 16, when he volunteered with the organisation, wrote articles for its platform and travelled to Edinburgh on his first flight through a Youth Leads opportunity. That experience shaped his understanding of what access and opportunity can do for a young person.
With a background in law, Sufyaan brings a strong understanding of systems and how to navigate them. He is focused on making opportunities more accessible and helping young people step into spaces where they can have influence, not just be included.
