Sumaiya is a dedicated student, pursuing her A-levels in Literature, Sociology, and Politics, along with an Extended Project Qualification. Driven by a desire to uplift young voices, Sumaiya actively works to amplify their perspectives, challenging outdated stereotypes that marginalise youth. Her passion for supporting young people stems from her deep understanding of the social and economic inequalities they face. Aspiring to become a qualified psychotherapist, Sumaiya is committed to breaking down barriers that prevent marginalised individuals from accessing mental health care.

Sumaiya channels her creativity through writing poetry and creating small personalised items which she sells through her small business. Sumaiya is also passionate about environmental change, playing a significant role in the GMYCA’s Environmental Working Group and presenting at the Greater Manchester Green Summit. Her commitment to supporting others is evident in her involvement with a tutoring centre and her success in helping raise £9,000 for charity during her time at school.
