2 minute read

Youth Leads UK has published its Annual Report for the year ending March 2023. The report looks back on twelve months of incredible youth social action and development.

The report showcases the key achievements of the youth-led charity against its three key areas of work: skills enrichment, self-empowering potential and influencing change.

Highlights include:

  • Delivering our leadership programme 10 times for over 200 young people across the 10 towns and cities that make up Greater Manchester.

  • Partnering with Manchester Communication Academy to create a pupil-led school magazine, deliver workshops and increase expression.

  • Concluding the Bolton Youth Healthcare Transformation Board pilot which saw a dozen young people create campaigns, influence decision-makers and provide feedback on health services in Bolton.

  • Being commissioned by Big Change to facilitate the Big Education Conversation Project Council in England.

  • Sharing the story of Youth Leads UK with David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, as part of the BBC’s coverage of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.

Chair of the Youth Leads UK Board of Trustees, Saimah Malji said:

“We are fuelled by our passionate and committed team, board and young people, and we benefit from great support of our funders and friends. We stand out for our peer-led, youth-led approach and our ability to genuinely hand over control to young people. Thanks to everyone who believes in us. We are steadfast in our commitment to changing the lives of underprivileged young people over the years to come.”
