Chelsea Onyemaechi
Chelsea is one of the newest additions to our Youth Engagement team. As a Youth Engagement Officer, Chelsea will help deliver Leadership Programmes and work closely with young people to ensure their voices are heard. However, her journey with Youth Leads starts long before this.
Chelsea first joined Youth Leads through the Leadership Programme in 2023. After experiencing what a strong and impactful community Youth Leads was, Chelsea became an active member of the Youth Advisory Board where she contributed to making sure Youth Leads remained youth-led and also joined the Civic Youth Leadership Programme where she developed her leadership and communication skills.
She is passionate about empowering young people to lead , build confidence and speak up for themselves and for their ideas. What motivates Chelsea most is supporting young people as they grow into confident leaders.

Youth empowerment to me means more than being heard; it’s the idea of being trusted to lead and shape change. And this responsibility allows me to be brave.
