Abdullah
Abdullah is a Manchester-based young leader with over three years of experience around youth advocacy, education, and civic engagement. Originally from Pakistan, Abdullah moved to the UK seven years ago and has since been navigating the complexities of the immigration system, a journey that has shaped his deep empathy for those facing barriers and his fierce commitment to creating opportunities for others. His journey with Youth Leads UK began as a leadership participant, and through dedication and impact, he earned the opportunity to speak at the House of Lords, an experience that marked a defining moment in his growth as a civic leader. That moment motivated him to join the Youth Advisory Board, where he continues to promote youth advocacy and amplify the voices of young people who are too often unheard.
Alongside this, Abdullah serves as Co-Chair of w/Youth, a youth-powered consultancy under Young Manchester, where he leads on governance, strategic direction, and community impact. He is also a Young Ambassador and former Manchester City Council Youth Councillor, bringing young people’s voices into funding decisions and policy discussions across Greater Manchester, and a Trustee at FAHR Beyond, supporting the charity’s governance and digital outreach to raise awareness of Fahr’s Disease. At the heart of everything Abdullah does is a simple but powerful drive to stand alongside young people who face disadvantage, whether through immigration, poverty, or circumstance, and help ensure they are never without support or opportunity.
